Wellington Coast Subdivision Strategy | The Wellington Coast Subdivision Strategy explores the issue of coastal subdivisions at Ninety Mile Beach and examines options for the future planning and management of the area. |
For many years the coastal subdivisions have been considered inappropriate but various approaches to restricting development have had limited success.
Wellington Shire Council in Victoria commissioned GHD to develop a draft Strategy, including a number of settlement 'scenarios'. The Strategy encompasses the area from The Honeysuckles to Paradise Beach as well as Hollands Landing and Seacombe.
Community consultation has recently been conducted to inform landowners, residents and other interested community members of the draft Wellington Coast Subdivision Strategy and to seek comment and feedback. GHD are managing the consultation process on behalf of Council.
Consultation update
The second phase of the consultation for the draft Strategy is nearing conclusion. Four focus groups were held in March and involved discussions with landowners on particular precincts and how the Strategy’s options may affect these areas.
The notes from all focus groups are included below (Information to download). Landowners are invited to provide any additional comments or feedback on these notes via mail or email by Wednesday 20 April 2005.
All comments received will be included in the Consultation Report that will be prepared shortly by GHD and presented to Council.
If you have any queries about the consultation for the Wellington Coast Subdivision Strategy contact the Project Information Desk until 30 April 2005.
