Each year a broad range of graduates join us at all our major locations. Candidates will ideally be recent (or nearing completion) graduates in the following disciplines:
- Engineering: civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, environmental, chemical, mining, industrial
- Environmental Science
- Geo Sciences
- Planning
- Architecture
Candidates should have consistently strong results or an Honours or Double Degree, and be able to demonstrate:
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- the ability to work in a team environment
- well developed problem solving and analytical skills
- the ability to grasp new concepts quickly, think laterally and creatively
- a client focus
- the personality and drive to adapt to consulting

If you are keen to further the development of your professional and personal skills, look no further than GHD's comprehensive suite of internal and external training programs on offer.
We know that formal training needs to be transferred into on-the-job skills and knowledge – that's why we provide you with specific on-the-job coaching sessions, opportunities to seek feedback and develop career goals.
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
As part of our commitment to the ongoing professional development of our staff, GHD has participated in the Engineers Australia CPD program since 1998. Staff are supported to complete this competency-based program and are awarded Certified Practising Engineer status on completion.
In New Zealand we are an Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) Endorsed Employer. Participants in our New Zealand graduate development program are encouraged and supported to seek Chartered Professional Engineer status.
Equivalent professional development opportunities are also provided for other disciplines.
