Aquatic Sciences
Ecological health is a key issue in the aquatic environment. Recent advances in our understanding of aquatic ecosystems have prompted the development of improved methods of assessing the condition of these systems.
GHD’s Aquatic Sciences team has specialist skills in the field of aquatic ecology. The team works closely with GHD’s Environment and Engineering groups and provides comprehensive environmental solutions in the freshwater and marine environments, tailored to clients' needs.
Our Aquatic Sciences specialists are industry leaders in the design and implementation of habitat assessment, biological monitoring, water and sediment monitoring, hydrology catchment management and waterway rehabilitation.
We work with private and public sector clients to support major infrastructure projects, including dredging and port construction, oil and gas operations, heated water and wastewater discharges, determination of mixing zones and pollutant trigger values and the development of Complex Integrated Monitoring Programs and environmental protection initiatives.
Our services are complemented by close links with leading universities, specialist subconsultants and research organisations, such as the CSIRO.
